March Books

This memoir is about a girl who leaves her family in the mountains to obtain an education.  She had never been to school or a doctor when she left at 17 years old.  She eventually earned a PhD and tells the meaningful story of how she got there.

Each chapter of this book begins with a lie that we often tell ourselves.  She provides examples from her life along with suggestions to move forward/see things differently.  I loved her stories and will definitely re-read this book in the future.

This author is a pastor's wife who is willing to share her own struggle and sin in order to also share the message of Jesus.  It feels freeing to know that we all have struggles and I felt encouraged after reading her story.

I love the Real Housewives franchise and always read their books.  I loved learning about Erika's past but felt bored a few times while reading.  It might have just been the writing style, but I felt like something was missing.

Surprise Me is about a couple who sets out to surprise each other often to keep the marriage fun and lively after they realize how many years are potentially left in their marriage.
The story involves scandal and the main character is easy to like.  I always enjoy books by this author and was entertained.
