November Books

I read Winter Solstice which is the last book in the Winter Street series by Elin Hilderbrand.  I loved all 4 of these books and Christmas in Nantucket sounds so magical.

Sisters First was amazing!  I love reading political memoirs and it was so interesting to learn about Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Pierce Bush and their memories from the White House as young adults.  They shared many personal stories, and I especially loved their sisterly bond.

As a young girl I remember checking out books from the public library on gymnastics.  I have always been fascinated with the sport.  Fierce is Aly Raisman's story about her journey to two Olympic competitions.  These girls are dedicated!

It Takes Two is about HGTV stars Jonathan and Drew Scott.  It was interesting to hear their story and how they got to where they are now.

Happy Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Caiti's family again this year!  We are thankful that they include us in their Thanksgiving plans each year.  We ordered some Amish noodles from Indiana and Matt made turkey and noodles for us to take and they were delicious!  We are looking forward to the leftovers this weekend :)

We started the day with breakfast casserole and the Macy's parade.  Ava said "that was the best parade ever!".

Best Weekend Ever!

Matt and I had lunch with Ava at school on Friday for her Thanksgiving dinner.  She chose to still eat her packed lunch of course :)  After lunch, I kept working in the cafeteria and Matt went to her classroom for a parent activity/treat.

On Saturday we had the best day ever at the beach.  We haven't taken the boat out since Hurricane Irma and it was great to be back on the water!

The sand-sculpting competition was at Ft Myers beach so we went to check it out.  We are always so in awe of how amazing these sandcastles are.

Just a couple kids in the kid zone :)

Ava was super brave while we were there and tried the water bubbles!  She wanted to, then changed her mind, then changed her mind again and went for it!

A picture of us with our boat!

Best Day Ever!

Life Lately

Last weekend we went downtown Fort Myers for the Taste of Lee.  We had fun walking around with friends and tried a few different foods.  Of course I had to get a Hoosier tenderloin :)

We have been working a lot on letter sounds with Ava and she did this puzzle the other night and was able to find the word by identifying the beginning sound!

This big girl turned ONE on November 1st!

Her accident days are over and hopefully her chewing Ava's toys and toilet paper obsession is almost over!

We love her so much and are so happy she is part of our family!

Matt is a Watch Dog at Ava's school and volunteered on Friday.  Especially after a week where he had been travelling, she was so happy to see her daddy at school!

We were eating outside at GCTC this weekend and a pontoon kept driving by with Santa on the back.  We realized it was his first night in town at Bass Pro Shops!  Ava watched from afar and we will go visit him next month :)

Today Ava worked on decorating her turkey for school.  She wanted it to look like Poppy :)

Then it was nap time with the pups!

We just love Fall weekends!
