February Books

This was my favorite book this month.  The author took 12 common phrases and told stories about them all.  It was relatable, funny, personal, and spiritual.

This book is full of honest, funny self-reflection.  I have read the Bachelor recaps on her blog in the past and also loved her book!

This book is personal and tells the author's stories of a difficult childhood and her history with different types of abuse.  Her experiences with Hollywood are eye opening and hopefully her story helps inspire change.

This fiction story is about a girl who is dumped and later lands a busy job at an admissions office.  It was an easy read and I enjoyed the student interviews and intense parents.

Everglades City Date Day

Ava had a sleepover with a friend last night so after Matt and I dropped her off in Naples we kept heading south to Everglades City for a date day!  We have been to the seafood festival in Everglades City before, along with hundreds of other people, so it was awesome to see the tiny town on a "normal" Saturday.

First up was City Seafood for a drink!

Next, we went on an airboat tour with Everglades City Airboat Tours through the mangrove jungles.  It was awesome!

After the airboat ride we went to Camellia Street Grill for dinner.  Everglades City is a fishing village with stone crabs being their specialty.  As we were sitting outside eating we saw boats coming in with their traps from a day of work.

We had a Stone Crab appetizer and it was delicious!

Matt had Grouper and I had Shrimp for dinner.  So good!

After dinner we made the drive back to Ft Myers, went to two bars near the house and decided it felt weird to be out at night when places are busy, and went home to rent a movie.

We are so thankful for the opportunity to have a date day!

February Favorites

Ava and I made a special treat for her class for Groundhog's Day!  I made the first 2 and she did the rest :)

We celebrated the 100th day of school this month and Ava and I dressed up as 100 year olds :)

Ava's class is learning about snakes and Matt brought them this snakeskin!

2 weekends in a row were too windy for the boat so we just went to the beach instead!  After our beach day we went to The Fish House for dinner :)

Ava's class has been working hard in the garden at school.  We are so thankful for her teacher!

Facetime with Dad - Bella loves to lick!

and cuddle Brady :)

Jill and I went to the FGCU game last week and had so much fun!

Last Saturday we went to FGCU for the Make-A-Wish walk!

Ava took squishys to her class for Valentine's Day this year.  We had our usual dinner and dessert at Miromar.

What a fun February!

Six Mile Cypress Slough

We went to the Six Mile Cypress Slough last weekend.  We walked the entire boardwalk and saw birds, snakes, and alligators!

This big girl sounded out the sign behind her for Otter Pond all on her own :)

The highlight of our trip was these gators.  The first gator was resting until the second one came and scared him off.  The first gator dove into the lake and then the second one walked across and dove in after him!

Such a fun day!
