July Books

I read the second 2 books in the Crazy Rich Asian series.  As I read more I had a better understanding of the different families and enjoyed these books.  It was fun to imagine what their very different lifestyle is like.

I love memoirs and this one was funny and interesting.  Kevin Hart told stories about his childhood and how he defied the odds.

This is the author's story about life growing up with a father who was a con man and used drugs without her knowing/understanding what was going on.  The book is about how we are not defined by our circumstances and her story of forgiveness.

This is a health book by Beth Behrs from Two Broke Girls.

IU Visit!

Matt and I got to visit Bloomington while we were in Indiana and my heart is so happy!  We met our friends from Florida at the wedding in Southern Illinois and then we all drove to Bloomington for a night.  Once I knew this trip was happening I was so happy I could cry.  It's hard to put into words how special IU is to me.  I remember moving in to the dorms and realizing I was completely on my own, hours away from anyone I knew.  I learned so much about myself those 4 years and am so thankful for the experience to go away for college.  I was so proud to show off IU to my friends!

After going through these pictures I looked back at the very few pictures from college I have digitally.  Here are a few from when Sara and I were there together :)

To Grandma's House We Go

We just got back from the best 2 weeks ever!  We loaded up the whole fam and drove to Indiana for a full two weeks of family fun!  We woke up early to hit the road and Ava was so excited!

Ava loved having her pups with her for the drive and despite throwing up a few times she never cried!

Day 2 of driving :)

We made it to Grandma's house!

Time for a popsicle and a Ranger ride!

A few hours after we got there Rylee, Holland, and Ellee got there!
We were all so excited to be together!

My mom invited family over Friday night and Ava, Holland, and Lucy made a dessert :)

Matt and I headed to Southern Illinois for a wedding and then to Bloomington for a night while Sara and Rylee took the girls to Indiana Beach to meet up with Grandpa Knapp and Patty!
Ava is still talking about all of the rides :)

When we got back from Bloomington we had a week and a half left and had the best time!

Ava and Lucy would go "fishing" with the dog leashes :)

Ava found this turkey feather on a Ranger ride and it is currently hanging on our fridge :)

Grandma kept Ava for an afternoon and Matt, Sara, and I had some FUN!

For the 4th of July we swam, roasted marshmallows, and Matt did some Fireworks!

Since it stays dark so late, Ava loved looking out the bedroom window before bed.  When she saw this deer on our last night she said, "This is amazing!!".

After 2 weeks of fun we packed up to head home.  You can tell this smile is a little forced because she was not excited about leaving her Grandma :(

She did great on the drive again and Friday night we made it HOME!

Thank you to Grandma, Papa, and Aunt Sara for welcoming us and taking the time to play with us for 2 weeks.  We had the best trip ever and are so thankful for the summer-time memories we get to make each year with you!
