A Sweet Beginning

Ava has had 3 dance competitions over the last few weeks and is doing amazing!  They even scored a Platinum and got a 1st place this past weekend!  The second graders at our school participate in Martial Arts classes during PE and they had their parent presentation last week.  It was so cool.  She broke a board and earned her white belt.  We had a family shopping day at Coconut Point and all got some new sunglasses for this Spring.  Finally, Art Club wraps up this week and she loved showing us her profile artwork hanging up at school.  

It has been a busy few weeks and we are ready for Spring Break to be here!

This year Valentine's Day was on a dance night so Matt and I enjoyed a beer & Norman Love chocolate tasting at the brewery near our house while Ava was at practice.  The next day we went to Miromar for our yearly Naples Flatbread/Norman Love family Valentine's date :)

Ava is on the competition dance team this year and had dress rehearsal yesterday.  It was amazing to see her perform all of her hard work.  We are so proud of her and excited for the competition season to begin!

I was sick a few days after Christmas and as of this week am officially feeling better.  It was a long few weeks of not knowing what was going on but apparently I had Salmonella :(  We enjoyed my first weekend of feeling well in awhile with a lot of fun!  Friday Matt and I went out to my work happy hour while Ava was at dance, Saturday we did brunch at Bonefish and Ava had a birthday party at Sky Zone, and today we went to the beach.  Ava did amazing at letting me rest the last few weeks while sick - she kept herself busy at home and helped with the pups.  She starts Art Club this week and she is gearing up for her competition season at dance.  We have some busy weekends ahead of us so it was awesome to spend this weekend having fun together.

We went to Sea World over winter break and got to play with dolphins!  We love dolphins because they follow our boat pretty often so I got us tickets for a dolphin encounter and it was so amazing!  We were able to give them some of their commands and reward them with fish.  Ava was super brave feeding them and even raised her hand to tell the trainer about how dolphins love our boat.  Her second favorite part of the day was touching the Stingrays.  Such a fun day!
