A Sweet Beginning

We went to Sanibel on Monday to explore the Ding Darling national wildlife refuge and visit the Sanibel Lighthouse.  It was warmer than we had expected so we spent half the day there and then came home to swim for a few hours before dinner.  We only saw birds and fish at the wildlife refuge but got to see a dolphin when we went to the beach!

This month we are excited for the warm weather and getting back outside!  We started the month with the 100th day of school celebration at school.  Ava looked so cute as a 100 year old lady :)

Tuesday was a teacher work day so Matt was home with Ava.  We have been talking about how it was about time to upgrade my car.  I love my car but we were having trouble with the A/C and some of the electronic features so it was time to get a new one.  Matt found the exact same car but a few years newer on the other coast so we headed over to West Palm Beach to check it out!

Ava slept the entire way there and back which we thought was weird but just figured it was because of the movement/boredom.  The next day at school she was feeling sick so I took her home mid-day and then the same thing happened Thursday where she left mid-day with Matt.  She slept as soon as she got in the car both days until bedtime.  Today she is home sick for the full day and will hopefully be feeling better very soon.

Swear On This Life is amazing!  It is about a writing professor who reads a popular book and discovers that the story line is based on her childhood and is written by her childhood best friend.

Yesterday we went to Manatee Park and enjoyed the beautiful weather!  We walked along the sidewalk to check out all of the viewing spots, stopping to learn about the manatees along the way.  Ava's class studied manatees earlier this school year and she shared many facts with us :)  She would say, "In the non-fiction book I read....".  It was adorable.  We want to go back and rent a kayak when it is a bit warmer.
